[台北] ‘KAWS:HOLIDAY’ in Taipei

What is that thing at Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall this week?

Maybe you have already seen it on Social Media over the past days because this weekend, KAWS debuted KAWS:HOLIDAY in Taipei, the so far largest sculptural work by the street artist.

The massive 36-meter-long COMPANION piece was introduced on the Grand Opening last Friday with Singaporean singer JJ Lin and his production company and the creative studio AllRightsReserved.

Who is KAWS?

Brian Donnelly, who professionally is known as KAWS, is an American artist and designer. He made a name for himself as graffiti artist, illustrator, sculptor, product designer, toymaker, and more. He is also designing limited edition toys and clothing, which are inspired by the iconic pop culture characters.

I personally loved the giant COMPANION piece by KAWS and I plan to return one of the days during the evening for the light show. KAWS:HOLIDAY will be up until this Sunday, 27th January 2019 – make sure to drop by before that 🙂
