Christmas is around the corner even though it might not feel Christmas-y weather-wise (I am from Europe, our Christmas is cold and in good years, white with snow, in bad years, it’s rainy and grey) 😉 However, like every year, New Taipei City is turning into a Winter Wonderland. Officially called Christmas Land, it is a place with a number of amazing light installations, games and Christmas vibe. Here is a short article with pictures and how to get there 🙂
You get there easily by metro and walk towards Citizens Square and the malls. On the way, you can already see lights and spot the tallest open-air Christmas tree in Taiwan in mids of the square 🙂
I made a short 2-minute video if you want, click to see our impressions and the short trip to Christmas Land in Banqiao after a long working day 🙂
My friends and I went to see Christmas Land during the first week of November – before it officially opened and avoided the crowd (more or less). There were still a bunch of people there, as you could see, but nevertheless, the installations and light shows were amazing 🙂 If you can plan it in, visit the light exhibitions in Banqiao during a weekday since it might be packed during weekends.

How to get there:
Take the MRT Blue line until Banqiao, and then head out Exit 2. From there it’s a short walk to Christmas Land, you basically will see the lights already 🙂 Enjoy!
